My latest Oil Painting is number one of a series of Iris paintings, this one called Blue Iris. Oil on Deep Canvas
My main problem was the background. I started to paint long thin leaves greens and yellows interspersed with darks but this did not come of. I eventually painted the all green colour.

The texture showing is usually clear in your pictures, which in turn brings out the depth of the brushstrokes often missing, due to poor imaging on internet browsing.
Choices of colours/subjects are bright and happy, maybe a little muted but I dare say that could be due to the brightness/contrast of the secondary imaging. Photoshop has an excellent levels adjuster.
